ABOUT L’ATELIER NOMADE

My name is William Fuhrman, and I was born in 1997. Since childhood, I have been captivated by the world of food—not just the flavors but the entire experience. The execution, the sourcing of ingredients, the ambiance—each element weaves together into something far greater than just a meal. These experiences create lasting memories, shared with friends, family, and loved ones.

For me, dining is more than just eating—it’s an exploration of culture, a window into the minds of the world’s most talented chefs. Traveling across the globe to experience different cuisines has become one of my greatest joys, allowing me to immerse myself in traditions and flavors that define each place I visit.

This blog is my way of documenting the restaurants I’ve visited over the years, sharing my honest impressions, and capturing the essence of what makes a dining experience truly extraordinary.

My Background

I am currently a full-time MBA student at the University of Michigan Ross and have spent the past decade as a tech entrepreneur. My career has given me the opportunity to travel extensively, a nomadic workshop if you will, and my passion for food has guided me to some of the most fascinating dining experiences around the world.

I don’t care about Michelin stars, AAA ratings, or any other status symbols. At the end of the day, what matters to me is simple: Is the food good?

My Approach

Lately, I’ve been developing a scoring system that evaluates restaurants based on over 40+ different metrics, with each dish assessed individually on a number of factors. My goal is to create an unbiased, data-driven approach to restaurant evaluation—one that goes beyond hype and prestige. Someday, I hope to release a platform where others can access and contribute to this system.

Why This Blog?

Food and wine are my passions, but they are also my way of experiencing life to the fullest. Each bottle, each meal, is a story, a memory, a moment I will have with me for the rest of my life. This blog is my way of sharing those moments with you.

I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
